(L-R): Felicity Marlow, Mark Elkington, Bree Bond, Michelle Klomp, Craig Laffin

Who is "Our Norwest?" Well, our Foundation is named this way intentionally, because we wanted a name that captured all members in our community. But you might be wondering who the driving force behind Our Norwest Foundation is. This group of staff are responsible for our new online community, donor partnerships, database management, story and content creation, and event management.

Allow us to introduce ourselves…

Mrs Felicity Marlow, Principal

Mrs Marlow provides oversight of our team and ensures that the mission of Our Norwest Foundation remains centred on the core mission of our College/s.

Mrs Marlow is passionate about leading staff and students in the application of clear Christ-centred thinking and good educational practice, and in building staff and student capacity, whilst honouring God-given individuality.

Two things you may not know about Mrs Marlow is that she is an avid paddleboarder and is a little addicted to KFC chocolate mousse.

Mr Mark Elkington, Business Manager

Mr Elkington is our Finance and governance man, working with Mrs Marlow to provide advice, and to ensure that our reporting to the College Board is sound.

Mr Elkington is passionate about Christian schools giving young people purpose and hope in knowing that God loves them.

One thing you may not know about Mr Elkington is that he came to Norwest after a ten-year detour in Darwin with NT Christian Schools while working on the ultimate Saturday morning scrambled eggs experience.

Mrs Bree Bond, Foundation Director

Mrs Bond is the creator of Our Norwest Foundation and is responsible for implementing and leading all Foundation initiatives.

Mrs Bond is passionate about people discovering that God loves them and has a plan for their life, so there are plenty of opportunities within Our Norwest to do this.

One thing you may not know about Mrs Bond is that she loves camping with her family, preferably near the beach.

Mrs Michelle Klomp, Marketing, Brand and Communications Manager

Mrs Klomp is responsible for making us look amazing, and heads up our Alumni community initiatives.

Mrs Klomp is passionate about being a part of an organization that has Christ at the centre of all that we do. A place where education and nurturing come together to develop and grow students, as they discover their God given purpose. She loves being able to tell ‘Our’ story and the stories of our students (past and present), whose journeys have become woven into the fabric of who we are.

One thing you may not know about Mrs Klomp is that she and her husband own jet skis and are regularly out on the water. (There seems to be a theme for the women in this team).

Mr Craig Laffin, Director of Development

Mr Laffin is out speaking to our wider community every week at events, to promote the College/s and to speak to people about partnering with purpose.

Mr Laffin is passionate about meeting and getting to know people in our community and sharing knowledge and stories about Norwest Christian College.

One thing you may not know about Mr Laffin is that he enjoys the challenge and experience of climbing mountains, including Kosciuszko ten times and Snowdonia in Wales, four times.

On behalf of all those listed above, we wish to thank you all for your support of Our Norwest Foundation across its inaugural year. We appreciate your support, advice, encouragement, prayers and partnership. We have learned much across the year and are looking forward to discovering where God will take us in 2024 and beyond.
