Our Norwest Foundation Philosophy

Our approach to Christian Education is unique. We talk a lot about having a sense of purpose and that it is a wonderful gift.

We don't discover our purpose alone. It's only through pursuing our purpose in community that it comes to life.

We learn with each other, from each other, and for each other. Everything we are gifted with is strengthened and multiplied
when it's discovered with and for the benefit of others.

We are committed to ensuring that each young person in our care knows that they have a God-given purpose and are equipped to capably pursue that purpose. To do this, we partner together, to grow confident, capable and compassionate learners. Young people develop confidence in an environment where they are encouraged to know who they are and who they were created to be. Every young person in our care comes to know that they are loved by God, known by God, and that He has a plan for their lives.

If this sounds appealing, there are opportunities to support us, and help us bring the hope of
Christian Education and Jesus to young people who need it most.

We look forward to partnering with you!

FAQ's

About Our Norwest Foundation

Our Norwest Foundation is a subsidiary of Norwest Christian College Ltd (ABN 38 003 164 136). Established in 2023, it exists to support the vision and mission of Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges. It is a place for everyone in our community to feel a deep sense of connectedness, joy, and responsibility. Our Norwest Foundation provides opportunities for partnership across many aspects of the College. It truly brings our Building Purposeful Lives framework into reality.

Partnering with purpose is the central objective of Our Norwest Foundation. We provide opportunities for those within and external to our community to support the philanthropic work of the Colleges and to fund future opportunities for our existing and potential students.

How will my investment be spent?

For those donating to our ‘House’ fund, your investment will contribute to the College’s building fund, to assist with the next phase of our master planning process, as determined by the College Board of Directors and Executive team. More specific information can be found on here.

For those donating to our ‘Hope’ fund, your investment will contribute to the education of particular College students, by funding (or partially funding) scholarships or bursaries, to fund student education. More specific information can be found here.

Are my donations tax deductible?

Donations to Our Norwest Foundation’s 'House’ building fund are tax deductible. We are currently investigating tax deductibility for our ‘Hope’ fund for bursaries and scholarships. Both our House and Hope Funds enhance the lives of our students and Our Norwest community.

What is an Our Norwest Foundation Ambassador?

Our Norwest Foundation Ambassador Team consists of parent and staff volunteers who help to share the impact of the opportunities made available through Our Norwest Foundation. Ambassadors actively encourage purposeful partnership within their sphere of influence, assist with facilitating components of our Foundation’s activities, and provide a unique voice from those who partner with us. If you are interested in discussing Ambassadorship, please contact our Foundation Director, Mrs Bree Bond at ournorwest@nwcc.nsw.edu.au.

Is it compulsory that I donate to Our Norwest Foundation’s Fundraising Campaigns?

No, donations are completely voluntary, and are at the discretion of each family or partnering organisation. Obviously, it is our hope that you will be inspired by the impact that Norwest and Ngarra are having on students and our community and that you will want to partner with us.

Will my gift make a difference?

Absolutely! Every gift has a positive impact on students, families, teachers, Alumni and our wider community. You will also help our Colleges to build a culture of philanthropy for the benefit of present and future generations. Donations of all sizes will be incredibly useful in fulfilling our vision of building purposeful lives.

What if I want to donate after a particular fundraising campaign has finished?

Our fundraising campaigns exist to share a specific need within our community. You are most welcome to donate outside of the campaign timeframes if that is more convenient for you.

As a parent, I already pay school fees, so why are you asking me for more money?

Whilst Norwest Christian College Ltd receives government funding, and receives your school fee payments, these income streams predominately cover the essential functions, like staff salaries and curriculum expenditure. The Independent school sector is largely self-supporting, particularly for our large capital works program.

Our Norwest Foundation funds those items that are over and above the school curriculum and that would not normally come out of a school's operating budget.

Whilst we encourage families to consider participating annually in our fundraising initiatives, we recognise that the amount donated will vary depending upon personal circumstances.

Partnering with purpose means that collectively, every contribution makes a big impact, as together, we’re building purposeful lives.
