Night at Norwest: An Evening of Calling, Community and Opportunity

The evening underscored our deeply relational culture - one that values connection, genuine faith, authenticity and personal growth.

Earlier this term, our Colleges hosted Night at Norwest, a special evening thoughtfully created for those sensing a calling to teach or work in support roles from 2026. Set in a relaxed and thoughtful atmosphere, the night provided a meaningful space to connect with our Executive staff, hear personal reflections from current team members, and discover what makes both Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges so uniquely special.

Attendees were welcomed into the College Atrium where they enjoyed a light dinner and had an opportunity to ask questions about working-life at the College. The evening underscored our deeply relational culture - one that values connection, genuine faith, authenticity and personal growth. A highlight was a panel discussion featuring current staff from various roles, who openly shared their experiences, offering a rich and honest glimpse into daily life at both Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges. Prospective staff also had an opportunity to view and tour our new facilities.

The heart of our Colleges is centred on being a Christ-centred learning community that inspires and equips students to build purposeful lives in three different ways – to love God, to pursue purpose and the build capacity. Attendees on the night were introduced to the Building Purposeful Lives framework which is deeply embedded into all aspects of College teaching. This offered a glimpse into how educators can join in shaping the lives of young people with purpose and faith.

Community Engagement Coordinator, Derrick McCarthy commented, “It was a fantastic opportunity to show potential applicants what it looks like to work at Norwest and to hear personal accounts from our staff the of kind of work that God is doing in this space.”

Night at Norwest was more than just an event – it was an invitation to discover one’s calling and ignite a sense of purpose. If you missed attending Night at Norwest and would like more information, please contact Derrick McCarthy at dmccarthy@nwcc.nsw.edu.au

Please note that current roles can be found on our Careers page.
