Why the Christian in Christian Education Truly Matters

Hope

This image fills me with so many emotions. My heart breaks for this boy, knowing that the task ahead seems impossible. Is he filled with dread, knowing that his first step is higher than his knees? His body language seems to say it all and I just want to rescue him and carry him to the top.

But what will that teach him?

I'm intrigued by his stance. He's shown up. Is he ready to take a risk and try it? Or is he ready to run? His future is uncertain.

We regularly find ourselves at a crossroad, weighing up the pros and cons of a decision, unsure where each path will lead. And then, after making a decision, we can still be overwhelmed by the task ahead. This image reminds me of the saying 'How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

As our students study, no doubt there are many moments of uncertainty about their future. What will I be when I grow up? It's a question I'm still asking myself in my mid-30's. Where will I live? What will my family look like? How will I make a difference in this world? We've all asked these questions.

As they study at Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges, each lesson they learn is rooted in a biblical foundation and starts with lifting their eyes above their circumstances (and their lesson plans).

It's the Christian foundation that our students are grounded in that provides the assurance that God has their days mapped out for them.

Whilst we ask "why, how, and when," God says "I am who I am" (Exodus 3:14). He is the only being with the ability to say this confidently, as the creator of all things.

Our student's futures are solid, because they learn who God is, and how to put their trust in the Him - the Creator and Sustainer of the world. They learn that He is for them, because they are His children. They learn that His love for them and His creation is so intense, that He died to save it all. They learn that He is good and that He is for them.
